The 2010 Maxxis British motocross championship started in fine style at Little Silver in Devon yesterday. With extreme weather warnings in place, round one of the championship looked doomed but the sun shone brightly as the day turned out near perfect, and with the new 3 race format everyone was in for a great days racing.

As the day started off a little on the wet side for the morning session of qualifying,  Alex on his all new mounted 450 Kawasaki got to grips with the track well and posted the 4th quickest time of the MX1 class. If that wasn’t enough for the top 12 riders, they then had to try and repeat  it as they entered the superpole which would consist of one flying lap! Alex again posted another fast time which he improved on from the first session but remained in 4th place again proving the first session was no fluke.
